It was great to see Quare Éire: An Anthology of Neo-mythmaking go live on August 1st and see four of my poems included in the anthology.
As Dr Lauren Cassidy, the editor of the anthology, writes in her introduction: the collection
"recovers a corner of the virtual realm to reinvest in the archaic power of storytelling. It is a concerted reclamation and, in some cases, deconstruction of the mythic scaffolding that has upheld Irish cultural memory for centuries, facilitating reconstructions of a key figure from Ireland’s foundation myths: Éire, the eponymous cultural landscape upon which identity politics have been fought for generations."
The selection is part of an evolving project titled Line Reading: Kathleen, Cathleen which you can follow the link to read more about and see where else p[iece of it have been published.
You can read the four poems, as well as the poetry, short stories, personal essays, flashfiction, visual artwork, creative non-fiction, auto-ethnography, songs and comic strips that make up the anthology here.
